Hazardous area classification in Australia is governed by AS/NZS IEC 60079-10-1 (gases and vapours) and AS/NZS IEC 60079-10-2 (dusts). Equipment installed in classified zones must comply with AS/NZS IEC 60079 series and carry appropriate IECEx or equivalent certification.
